Model United Nations

The kids did great at their very first day of Model UN. They came out of committee sessions excited that they had made alliances, gained signatories and started drafting resolutions with their fellow delegates. Here’s just a quick glimpse of them in action, mostly during the unmoderated caucuses.I tried to sneak in and grab some pictures while they were in action without disrupting them so excuse the poor quality. One brave fellow, who began the day very nervously, made a powerful speech to his committee. We’re all so proud of them!
Right now they’re enjoying some well deserved fun time with a movie and dance.

NYC Day 3

Today we visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art, walked through Central Park, and made it to the opening ceremonies of the Model UN.

Ok, here’s the list of our day: Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Battery Park, Federal Courthouse (where George Washington was inaugurated), 9/11 Memorial, Trinity Church, Grand Central Station, NY Library, great Jewish Deli, and the Broadway Show Pippen. Not one complaint, lots of memories and one happy 13 year old birthday!

We’ve taken NYC by storm (and a few snowflakes). Not much time to write, but enjoy the pics from today!

Black Violin

We were able to catch this genre busting blend of classical and hip-hop at the Pantages yesterday. They want the kids to remember 3 rules:
1. Black Violin rocks.
2. Take what you love and push it to new limits the world had never seen before.
3. Outwork everyone around you!
